WE ARE ON TREATY LAND

Painted Turtle Lake Retreat is located on Treaty 1 territory, which are the Original Lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and Homeland of the Métis Nation. Our family is a blend of Anishinaabeg (Treaty 2) and Mennonite settler identities. We use some of our vacation rental profits to support local, Indigenous-led initiatives to reclaim land and ceremony.
