WE ARE ON TREATY LAND

Painted Turtle Lake Retreat is located on Treaty 1 territory, which are the Original Lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and Homeland of the Métis Nation. Our family is a blend of Anishinaabeg (Treaty 2) and Mennonite settler identities. A portion of our revenue supports local, Indigenous-led initiatives to reclaim land and ceremony.

The perfect destination to balance the chaos of life, relax, nap, go for walks in the forest and just exist.

With four golf courses, an archery range, Sandilands Provincial Forest, La Broquerie and the city of Steinbach nearby, there is always somewhere to explore. Check out our Explore page for a wide range of possible activities! Our property is accessed by up to 2.5 miles of gravel road, depending on your direction of travel.
